About Brendan
Brendan Hackett is a coach with a unique blend of educational and practical experience in sport and business. In his work, he has helped many individuals, teams and coaches maximise their potential in a wide range of activities. He works with people of every level of ability from beginners to world champions in their quest to become the best they can be.
He has a degree physical education, a masters degree in sport psychology and is currently undertaking a professional doctorate in human performance and innovation.
Brendan has been coaching for 40 years at all levels. He has managed intercounty football teams, coached the Irish international rules team and still coaches at club level. He has also coached numerous national and international athletes from club to Olympic level. He currently coaches Martin Hoare the 2022 National Marathon Champion.
As a mental fitness specialist, he has worked with Irish athletes and teams at five Olympic Games. He wrote one of the first books to be published in Ireland on the topic of mental fitness. Success From Within was published in 1998 and a PDF copy of the book is available for free when you’ve become a subscriber.
He founded Motions Fitness in 1984, which was one of the leading companies managing corporate fitness facilities and services for some of Ireland’s largest companies. He was also the first CEO of Athletics Ireland when it was formed in 2005. Brendan still regularly speaks at corporate levels advising business on getting the most from their people as well as individual coaching.
